Howard Edward Staffy, age 94, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Hammond Hall Veteran's Home in Quincy. He was born February 28, 1930 in New Canton, IL to Francis and Ina (House) Staffy. He was raised in Valley City, IL until 1943 when he went to live with his Uncle George and Aunt Lelah (Clift) Starks in Barry, IL and graduated high school there in 1948. He married Marilyn Mae Dehart in March of 1951. She preceded him in death in February, 2005. In 2006, Howard married Vera Mae James, and she survives.
Howard worked in his family's salvage yard until he joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Japan during the Korean War from 1950-1954. He began his career with General Telephone Company in 1955 and retired in 1993. Howard owned and operated Staffy Electronics, and spent many hours in the shop working on CB radios, tv repairs, and installing satellite dishes.
